The Langzdin family game of

Wahoo

Four bunnies each. Stomp your rivals, tuck your own safely home.

Local Game

Hot seat and CPU players on this device.

Online Game

Host in your browser, or use a server.

Hosted right in your browser โ€” share the four-letter code. A free relay sets up the connection, then the game runs peer-to-peer. Empty seats are filled by CPUs.

Defaults to https://wahoo.robloach.net (PHP relay). You can also self-host: the PHP server from server/wahoo-php on any web host, or the Node WebSocket server via npm run server (use a ws:// address for that one).

House Rules

Applies to games you start or host โ€” guests play by the host's rules.

How to play

The rules in brief. The full card reference is one tap away in every game.

  • Teams of two sit opposite each other โ€” Red & Green against Blue & Yellow. First team to get all eight bunnies home wins.
  • Every round you're dealt four cards. Play one on your turn and do what it says โ€” no drawing back up. If nothing is playable, you fold for the round.
  • A / 2: spawn a bunny (2 also flips a bonus card). 4: move backward 4 spaces, staying on the track. 7: move one bunny 7, or split the 7 between two bunnies (even inside the burrow). J: swap with any bunny. Q: 12 forward. K: move 13 forward, or spawn from your reserve onto any other player's bunny โ€” even a teammate's โ€” stomping it. Other cards move their face value.
  • Landing on any bunny stomps it back to its reserve; passing through is safe. Burrow entry needs an exact count, and there's no jumping inside โ€” every slot you pass must be open. Bunnies in the burrow are safe from everything.

    Privacy & terms

    Privacy, in plain words

    • No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing watching you play.
    • Local games stay on your device. Player names, house-rule choices, the family record, and your settings live in this browser's storage and go nowhere. Clearing the site's data erases them.
    • Online games share what the table needs. The name you enter and your moves are sent to the game server you choose and shown to the other players in your room. Rooms โ€” including the token that lets you reclaim your seat โ€” are deleted after about a week of quiet.
    • Servers see your IP address, as every website does โ€” it's used only for rate limiting and ordinary server logs.
    • Browser-hosted games connect you directly. The free PeerJS service brokers the handshake, then game data flows between players over an encrypted connection โ€” like a video call, the people in your game can technically see each other's IP addresses. When a firewall blocks the direct path, the encrypted traffic passes through the Open Relay service instead.
    • The game itself is served by GitHub Pages, so GitHub's standard hosting logs apply to page loads.

    Terms

    • Wahoo is free and open source (GPL-3.0), provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind โ€” it's a family card game, not a legal instrument.
    • Be kind at the table. Room codes are shared among friends; the host sets the house rules, including whether the finger is welcome.
    • Questions or concerns? Open an issue on GitHub.
